REVIEW: Ralph Lauren 2025 Spring Collection

A lot of people make fun of others for being “sheep,” for following the herd, and choosing to like things just because other people like them. However, there are just some things that are easier to like: Taylor Swift, Ugg boots and the United States of America. While most people have their qualms with this country, at the end of the day, you do live here. So, isn't it easier to just focus on the bright side of this place? And what goes better with the bright side of the United States than Ralph Lauren?

One of the most prestigious parts of America is New York Fashion Week. A week in which top models show off the clothes of designers such as Micheal Kors, Tory Burch, Anna Sui, and, of course, Ralph Lauren. This past New York Fashion Week took place September 6th through the 11th. While most of the shows take place in New York City, the Ralph Lauren show was held in Bridgehampton, New York. The 19-acre horse farm gave the audience the classic Ralph Lauren feel. But what exactly is that Ralph Lauren feel?

Ralph Lauren Corporation is a luxury fashion brand that was founded in 1967 by Ralph Lauren, with its headquarters currently in New York City. Its overall sense of style creates a feeling of old-money American royalty. Think Kennedy’s, think Lana Del Rey’s “National Anthem” music video, think New England, then put it all together and you have Ralph Lauren. This year’s Spring 2025 ready-to-wear collection emphasized Ralph Lauren’s Americana look as well as bringing a new light to what it means to look Ralph Lauren. Here are some particularly stunning looks from the show.

This dress is just gorgeous. It takes a new spin on the old Ralph Lauren while still honoring the origins of the company. It’s very classy and old money while bringing in a new youthful look with the sequins. It’s interesting to see Ralph Lauren do a tube-top neck because it’s a much more avant-garde neckline compared to the classicism of Ralph Lauren, but they really make it work, and the model still looks very powerful and important. You can tell the craftsmanship on that dress is impeccable by the way it perfectly silhouettes the model’s body. The ombre is an interesting choice because it’s not something that you see much of anymore, and it usually comes across as tacky. That is not the case in this beautiful look.

This is the 14th look in the show, and it’s a men’s look. I love how this look takes the Americana cowboy feel and makes it look high-class. What I particularly love about this look is the belt. It isn’t a normal Ralph Lauren look, but it’s so beautiful that it takes on a whole new meaning. It represents Americana to me better than any other aspect of this show because it reminds me of the American dream. To me, I imagine a man who perhaps came from a farming family and then left to become a rich businessman, but he still keeps in touch with his roots through the detailing of his belt. A belt that he probably had a similar replica of as a youngster, but now that he’s older, he can afford a really nice one that he’s always wanted. What a beautiful message served by just one simple piece.

This is the 86th look in the show and one that stood out to me. I loved the sunglasses in particular because they have a very old American look while still having a hip new sense about them. Boots are back in a big way this year, and it’s very interesting that in this outfit the jeans are tucked into the boots. This is different from the norm because almost everyone who is wearing boots is doing so with tights or bottoms on the outside of the jeans. I love the silhouette of this outfit. It all works together perfectly. The double belt is very interesting and could come across as busy, but because of the excellent color matching, it makes the outfit look more whole. I also love the bag in this outfit. It ties everything together, and I think this is an amazing outfit.

In conclusion, the Ralph Lauren show had over 100 looks and included men’s, women’s, and even children’s outfits throughout. It was attended by many stars, including Jill Biden. If inviting the first lady to your fashion show isn’t Americana, I don’t know what is! I loved this show overall, and I’m so excited to see what Ralph Lauren does next.
