Her designing journey, however, really began a few years ago during the COVID-19 pandemic. No longer able to try on clothes in-store, she started sewing to alter clothes bought online that weren’t fitting correctly.

Dinorcia’s inspiration for Ringmaster pulls from historical Victorian and Rococo era designs while also pulling from modern iterations of these eras explored through “Lolita style.” 

When the news of Roam’s new spring show, Ringmaster, had made its way onto the scene, Hawkins wanted to give it a shot for one particular reason: clowns.

Sauceda’s process required lots of detailed and tedious work, but she was committed to the process of creating. 

Zhou utilized some of the most iconic images and symbols from the circus in her designs. “I have balloon pants and this flower gear get-up. I feel like that was influenced by how playful and fun the design allows for.”
